Friday night’s concert will celebrate African American sacred music composers and feature three dynamic church choirs from the Charlotte area: Friendship Missionary Baptist, Myers Park Baptist, and St Paul Baptist. You can read more about these fantastic ensembles and their directors HERE.
All conference attendees and church choir members are welcome to rehearse and perform two mass selections at the end of the concert led by Maestra D’Walla Simmons Burke. You can find more info on how to sign up below.
How do I sing with the mass church choir?
When you register for the conference, click yes on the question to participate!
You will receive digital access to music 1 week ahead of time to prepare the notes for your voice part.
Attend the mass rehearsal from 6-7pm in the Levine Theatre on Friday, October 10.
Attend the evening concert that starts at 7:30pm. At the end of the evening concert, come on up to the stage and join your section!
