Diversity Initiatives Commitment
NC ACDA’s Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee invites people from different ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, gender identities, sexualities, abilities, ages, religions, and cultures, etc. into welcoming, hospitable, and diverse spaces that represent the spectrum of choral conductors, singers, styles, and genres in North Carolina.
Rooted in intentional critical reflection, we will collaborate with the NC ACDA Committees and other in-state musical organizations to actively develop efficacious educational programs. These choral opportunities will embody the priorities of diversity, accessibility, advocacy, equity, and inclusion at the state’s annual conferences and throughout the year.
NC ACDA will consistently build opportunities to treat all people and choral musics with humility, honor, and respect to promote authentic community, musical inspiration, artistic learning, and personal growth.
The Executive Committee and other NC ACDA leadership committees will collect information and take action in ways that further the strategic goals and visibility of the association and the mission of the NC ACDA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee.
