All NC-ACDA
directors involved in Music and Worship are invited to participate
in the inaugural Church Festival Choir which will meet simultaneously
with the Fall Conference, October 8-9, 2004. Directors must (1)
be an active member of ACDA, (2) register for the Fall Conference,
(3) recommend an SATB quartet for the choir, (4) pay $100.00
registration fee for the quartet and (5) purchase and teach music
to participants before the festival. (Suggestion–some directors
might consider combining with another director to complete the
quartet or even recruit new directors to ACDA through the Festival
Choir)
We are limited
to eighty-four participants. Choir members will be accepted on
a first come, (that means first registered and paid) first served
basis. Rehearsals will be held in the Organ Recital Hall at UNCG
and the closing concert will be in UNCG’s Recital Hall.
We are honored
to have David Pegg as our conductor.
David serves as Director of Music at Centenary United Methodist
Church, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. At Centenary, he conducts
the 80-voice Chancel Choir and coordinates a complete music program
which includes choirs for children, youth, older adults and handbells—and
the Centenary Academy for Music and Performing Arts, a community
music school.
